    My sunshine city

The thing I like best about my city is I can get to any necessary places by bicycle or bus. I can even make a trip to my grandmother's house by bicycle, just one hour. We don't have a garden in our house but my grandmother has one, rather big and very exciting to see. And every important holiday, when joining the central square to see full of colours of flowers and fireworks and people, I'm proud to call the whole city my home. 20 August 2010, 09:03

    Funcie

This is my last year of college and I've recently realized that I'm going to miss this town when I leave. I've done what most students don't and have traveled outside of campus and its surrounding areas and have explored what this little city has to offer.

I also try to get my friends to join me in my experiences. I have actually had a few exclaim "wow, I didn't know this town had this!" It makes me smile.

    Home Sweet Home :)

I really love where i live. It may not be the perfect neighbourhood, but for me it's ok. I met here many wonderful people who became my friends and i'm really happy because of that. It's a nice feeling to come back home after a journey :)

    Loving Richmond

I love that Richmond is still close enough to London to go into the centre and have fun, but far enough away that you can go for a walk and be out in the countryside. 15 November 2009, 16:55

I love the past of where I love

Our historical environment is all about what the generations of people who have lived here have made of the place they have lived. Look around and you will see layer upon layer of human activity as each generation makes its mark. Looking around at the cladding and pebble dash on the houses and the garish signs featuring blurry photos of kofte on Green Lanes, it is hard to imagine that there will people, 50 years from now ,sighing and saying 'Those were the days' but I may be wrong and red tile paint may be considered the last word in style. Still, looking up, you can still glimpse the past peeping through and showing up what our grandparents and great grandparents saw when they made their way home from a hard day at work. These little features are part of our 'common wealth' and seeing them survive makes me feel closer to the history of my neighbourhood. 29 January 2009, 10:21
